2014. In Brest, Vincent—whose background is in traditional Breton music—became the first diatonic accordionist to conceive of connecting a digital multi-effects unit and a looper to his instrument. He was soon joined by other musicians, starting with an electric guitarist with funk influences and an electronic drummer. The project gained momentum in June 2016 with the release of Early Project, the band’s debut album, followed by the start of a partnership with the Cercle Celtique de Fouesnant; the band still accompanies this troupe of dancers in traditional costumes on their annual summer tours of choreographed performances.
2017. The lineup was completed with the addition of an electric bass player. The band has performed at events such as the Festival des Mariolles in Campan and the Trophée Loïc Raison at the Lorient Interceltic Festival (2018).

In 2019, the project shifted toward a more pronounced electronic sound following a lineup overhaul and the arrival of Riwall—a DJ with a background in traditional music—on electronics. This led to the April release of a new demo accompanying the latest show by the Cercle Celtique de Fouesnant.
Throughout 2020 and 2021, despite the health crisis, the band used the time to compose and refine its sonic identity. Following the lockdowns, Electrad released the album Collision, marking a new milestone in establishing its musical identity. A return to the stage quickly followed; the band played numerous shows—ranging from fest-noz gatherings and summer festivals to concert halls—thereby confirming its appeal well beyond Brittany's borders.

In 2026, Electrad is gearing up for a busy season with around thirty scheduled dates—including a debut international performance in the Netherlands—reflecting growing demand and an ever-expanding audience. To complement this momentum, the group is enhancing its performance with a light show fully synchronized to the music, designed to deepen audience immersion and amplify the energy on stage. It is a unified audio-visual experience in which every lighting effect interacts with the electronic rhythms and accordion melodies.
